Ranchi: DAV Nandraj Public School successfully organised a Higher Education & Career Guidance Workshop for the students of Senior Secondary classes with the objective of helping them make perfect decisions regarding higher education and future careers. The programme served as a comprehensive counselling session, equipping students with the knowledge and confidence required to choose suitable academic and professional pathways in line with the vision of NEP 2020.
The event featured inspiring and interactive sessions by distinguished academicians and career experts. Dr. Manoj Singh, Head, Department of Zoology, Kalinga University, Raipur, and Mr. Ajay Singh, Regional Manager, Alliance University, Bengaluru, addressed the students and highlighted the importance of selecting careers based on aptitude, interests, and emerging global opportunities.
The speakers introduced students to diverse higher education opportunities, multidisciplinary courses, emerging technologies, future-ready careers, professional and employability skills, entrepreneurship, interview preparation, Statement of Purpose (SOP), scholarships, and the changing landscape of education under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. They also shared practical examples and encouraged students to explore newly emerging disciplines and career options beyond conventional professions.
Representatives from leading universities, including Alliance University, Kalinga University, Apollo Knowledge University, MIT World Peace University, SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRM IST), and Sikkim Manipal University, interacted with students through dedicated information desks. Students received guidance on admissions, academic programmes, scholarships, and career prospects while clarifying their individual queries.
Principal Dr. Ravi Prakash Tiwary said that career counselling programmes like these are extremely important, especially for students of Class XII, as they help them identify the right direction for higher education and professional growth. Such initiatives act as a true pathfinder, enabling students to make informed choices and prepare them for the opportunities andp challenges of the future.
The programme concluded with an interactive session where students enthusiastically engaged with university representatives, making the event a meaningful step towards empowering young learners with the knowledge and confidence to shape their future careers.
