“Modern education should be based on life skills and values, not rote learning.” — Dr. Ravi Prakash Tiwary

On Saturday, 27th September 2025, a Parenting and Guidance Session was organized at D.A.V. Nandraj Public School, Bariatu Road, Goonj Hall for the parents of Class X board-appearing students. Around 300 parents and students participated in the session.

The program began with parents sharing their children’s academic concerns and advising them to study sincerely and aim for the highest marks.

Later, the Principal, Dr. Ravi Prakash Tiwary, addressed the gathering by highlighting the need for conscious parenting. He asked, “How many mobile phones do you have at home?” and pointed out that most families own at least three to four. He emphasized that times have changed, and children today are sharper and faster thinkers. For this generation, parents must give their valuable time and right guidance. He reminded everyone: “Rote learning will not help them. They must acquire skills. Knowledge is useless if it does not bear fruit. It is the right direction—not just effort—that ensures success.”

He further advised parents to reduce screen time and dedicate more meaningful time to their children, assuring that this investment would yield valuable results.

Dr. Tiwari stressed that every child is blessed with a unique quality by God. If parents can recognize and nurture it, children can achieve greatness. Forcing them into careers like doctors or engineers may not work for everyone. He shared examples of weak students who later became successful doctors and officers, stressing that the key lies in proper guidance and consistent effort.

He also explained that in line with this vision, CBSE has introduced multiple skill-based subjects, and the school has also integrated several such courses, including Healthcare, Artificial Intelligence, Drone Robotics, Pharmaceutical Biotechnology, and more—helping students pursue the field of their choice.

Dr. Tiwari assured parents that such sessions would be conducted multiple times over the next few months, and their active cooperation would play a crucial role in shaping the students.

In the concluding remarks, parents highly appreciated the school’s value-based and character-oriented education and welcomed this initiative. They expressed gratitude, saying such sessions strengthen the bond between school and parents, and they looked forward to attending the next one.
