Fifth In-House Capacity Building Training on Cyber Safety and Security Conducted Successfully at DAV Nandraj Public School

The fifth In-House Capacity Building Training Programme on Cyber Safety and Security was successfully organized under the aegis of Arya Gyan Prachar Samiti (AGPS) at the Goonj Auditorium of DAV Nandraj Public School. The programme brought together educators from all the schools under AGPS for an enriching and highly interactive learning experience.

The programme commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, symbolizing the pursuit of knowledge and enlightenment. This was followed by a melodious musical presentation by the school band Waves, which set a vibrant and inspiring tone for the day.

The training session was facilitated by the resource persons Mr. Presenjit Kumar Thakur and Mr. Ajit Kumar Singh, who shared valuable insights on cyber safety, cyber security, digital frauds, cyberbullying, online threats, data protection, and responsible use of technology.

The event was graced by Mrs. Jhumpa Singh, Headmistress, DAV Nandraj Modern School, and Mr. Deepak Kumar, Principal, Mahatma N.D. Grover Public School, Bundu, as distinguished guests.

More than 140 teachers from all the schools functioning under AGPS participated enthusiastically in the programme. Their active involvement, collaborative discussions, and eagerness to learn made the session highly engaging and impactful.

Addressing the gathering, Mr. Deepak Kumar emphasized the significance of such training programmes in today’s rapidly evolving digital world. He highlighted that cyber awareness and digital literacy are essential not only for teachers but also for students. He further stated that awareness of cyber safety and security helps educators and learners acquire the competencies required in the modern era and strengthens important 21st-century skills in alignment with the objectives of the National Education Policy (NEP).

One of the most impactful segments of the programme was the sharing of personal experiences by participants. Many teachers candidly narrated incidents where they had encountered cyber fraud, phishing attempts, online scams, or cyberbullying. These real-life experiences made the discussions highly relevant and practical.

To ensure active engagement, the resource persons conducted a variety of interactive activities, games, quizzes, and group discussions. These participatory sessions not only enhanced learning but also enabled teachers to better understand the challenges and responsibilities associated with digital citizenship.

The programme concluded with a renewed commitment among educators to promote cyber awareness, digital responsibility, and safe online practices among students, parents, and the wider community. The training proved to be a highly enriching and empowering experience, equipping teachers with the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate the digital world safely, responsibly, and confidently.
