Special Awareness Program on Drug Menace Organised at DAV Nandraj Public School by District Legal Services Authority
Ranchi, 14 May 2025 — In an effort to educate young minds about the rising threat of drug abuse, DAV Nandraj Public School, Bariatu hosted a Special Awareness Program in collaboration with the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Ranchi. The program was held in the school auditorium ‘Goonj’ and aimed at promoting awareness and preventive measures among students.
Students of Classes 11 and 12 actively participated in the program, which featured a panel of experts who shared their knowledge and experiences in tackling the drug menace from legal, medical, and enforcement perspectives.
The event began with an opening address by Mr. Atul Gera, Member, Special Team, District Legal Services Authority. He introduced the theme and invited the expert panel for a detailed discussion on the causes, consequences, and solutions related to drug abuse.

Mrs. Nivedita Sharma – Member, Life Savers, Ranchi
Each speaker shed light on various aspects of drug addiction — from legal repercussions and health impacts to the role of society and education in prevention. Students listened intently, asked thoughtful questions, and engaged with the experts during the session.
Principal Dr. Ravi Prakash Tiwary addressed the gathering and remarked, “Schools play a crucial role in shaping responsible citizens. Awareness is the first step toward prevention, and it is our duty to protect our youth from the clutches of drug abuse. Let’s stand united against this menace.”
The program concluded with an anti-drug pledge administered to all students, where they vowed to live a drug-free life and promote the message within their communities.
This initiative marked a powerful step towards building awareness and resilience among students, reinforcing the school’s commitment to holistic education and social responsibility.
