DAV Nandraj Public School, Bariatu celebrated Earth Day with great enthusiasm and active participation from students of Classes 6 and 7. The celebration aimed to sensitize students about the urgent need for environmental conservation and sustainable living.

Throughout the day, students engaged in a variety of creative and meaningful activities. In the classrooms, a drawing and painting competition was conducted where students illustrated powerful themes like “Save Earth, Save Life” and “Green Planet, Clean Planet.” Their artwork decorated the corridors, spreading awareness through colours and creativity.

A plantation drive was also organized, where students planted saplings within the school campus. Each student pledged to nurture their plant, symbolizing their commitment to a greener tomorrow.

The day began with a special morning assembly. A touching poem dedicated to Mother Earth was presented by the students, reminding everyone of their duty to care for the planet.

In addition, students were encouraged to adopt the practice of reusing waste materials at home—such as plastic bottles, paper, and packaging—to create useful items and reduce environmental damage. This activity not only promoted recycling but also highlighted the importance of minimizing waste and conserving natural resources.

Addressing the students, Principal Dr. Ravi Prakash Tiwary emphasized the significance of sustainable living. He said, “Every small step matters. Say no to plastic, plant trees, conserve water, and reuse materials—these are not just habits but responsibilities we must carry for a better future.”

The celebration concluded with a collective promise by all students and staff to protect and preserve the Earth, not just on Earth Day, but every day.
