Celebrating Indian Heritage: Successful Kathak Workshop at DAV Nandraj Public School
A Kathak workshop was organized on 29 June 2026 in the Goonj Hall of DAV Nandraj Public School for students of Classes 8 to 11. The event aimed to introduce students to the richness of Indian classical dance and encourage them to connect with their cultural roots.
The workshop was conducted by internationally renowned Kathak dancer, choreographer, guru, and cultural ambassador Ms. Anu Sinha. Having devoted more than three decades to the field of Indian classical dance, Ms. Sinha delivered an inspiring session and introduced students to the fundamental techniques of Kathak, including hand gestures, rhythm, beats, expressions, and movement patterns.
During her interaction with the students, she emphasized that Kathak is not merely a classical dance form but also a powerful medium for preserving Indian culture and developing discipline, self-confidence, concentration, and personality. She encouraged students to appreciate Indian classical arts and actively participate in preserving and promoting the nation’s rich cultural heritage.
Students participated enthusiastically throughout the workshop and showed great interest while practicing various intricacies of Kathak. The session proved to be highly informative, inspiring, and culturally enriching, offering students a valuable learning experience beyond academics.
School Principal Dr. Ravi Prakash Tiwary expressed his gratitude to Ms. Anu Sinha for conducting the workshop and stated that such initiatives play an important role in the holistic development of students while strengthening their connection with Indian culture and values.
The workshop concluded with a vote of thanks, leaving students inspired and motivated to explore the beauty of Indian classical arts.
