D.A.V. Nandaraj Public School Celebrates Anti-Addiction Day with Week-Long Activities

Today, on 26.06.2024, Wednesday, D.A.V. Nandraj Public School, Booty More, Ranchi, celebrated Anti-Addiction Day. Throughout this week-long program, students participated in various activities such as poster making, essay writing, painting, and slogan writing competitions.

The event began with the lighting of the lamp by the chief and distinguished guests. Addressing the students, Principal Dr. Ravi Prakash Tiwary stated that addiction gradually destroys society. He emphasized that children are the future, and their conduct and behavior have a significant impact on society.He urged everyone to politely oppose any form of substance abuse, even within their own families.

The chief guest, Mr. Vinay Kumar, District Education Officer, Ranchi, in his speech, expressed concern about the increasing addiction among children.He stressed that parents have a crucial role in monitoring their children closely and having open conversations with them.

Distinguished guest Mrs. Nidhi Dwivedi, S.P., C.I.D., Ranchi, mentioned in her address that addiction is spreading not only among men but also among educated women, becoming a status symbol. She called for a mass movement against it and emphasized the need for women to come forward to protect their homes and families, for which education is essential. Although progress is being made, it is slow, and improvements are necessary.

To raise awareness, various competitions were organized for the students of different classes.The students who were awarded are as follows:

Overall, the week-long Anti-Addiction Day program was a resounding success. It provided an excellent platform for students to showcase their creativity and express their views on the critical issue of substance abuse.
