DAV Nandraj Public School, Bariatu, organized an informative career guidance session on “Career Prospects in the Field of Fashion” for the students. The session was conducted by Prof. Manisha Tamanna Tirkey from the Department of Fashion Technology, St. Xavier’s College, Ranchi.
During the session, Prof. Tirkey highlighted the growing opportunities in the fashion industry, including fashion designing, textile design, fashion communication, merchandising, styling, and entrepreneurship. She also guided students about the required skills, professional courses, and leading institutions offering fashion education.
Students actively participated in the interactive session and clarified their doubts regarding career options and future prospects in the fashion sector. The session proved highly beneficial for students interested in creative and design-oriented careers.
On this occasion, it was also informed that Fashion Studies has been introduced as a Skill Subject for the new academic session in Classes IX and XI.
The introduction of this subject is a special initiative taken by the school in alignment with the New Education Policy (NEP), aiming to provide skill-based and career-oriented education to students at an early stage.
Principal Dr. Ravi Prakash Tiwary appreciated the initiative and stated that the inclusion of Fashion Studies as a skill subject reflects the school’s commitment to implementing NEP guidelines and promoting practical, skill-based learning. He emphasized that such programs help students explore their interests and make informed decisions about their future.
