One-Day Workshop on “Promoting Mental Health and Well-Being Among Students” Organized at DAV Nandraj

A one-day CBSE-mandated workshop on “Promoting Mental Health and Well-Being Among Students” was successfully organized on Friday, 1st May 2026 at DAV Nandraj Public School. 180 teachers from DAV Nandraj Public School, DAV Nandraj Modern School and N.D. Grover DAV Public School participated in the six-hours workshop.

The program commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp and chanting of vedic mantra in the presence of Principals Dr. Ravi Prakash Tiwary, Mr. Deepak Kumar, Mrs. Jhoompa Singh.
During the inaugural session, Dr. Ravi Prakash Tiwary emphasized on the growing importance of mental health in today’s stressful world. He highlighted that true health means maintaining physical, mental, emotional, and social balance. He encouraged teachers to promote positivity, mindfulness, yoga, pranayama, good reading habits, and constructive thinking among students.

Principal Mr. Deepak Kumar and Headmistress Mrs. Jhoompa Singh also shared valuable insights and encouraged teachers to remain emotionally aware and mentally strong.

CBSE Resource Person Mrs. Monika Pathak discussed the early signs of depression and emotional distress among children, including isolation, anger, confusion, mood swings, and loss of interest. She highlighted the importance of listening patiently to students, guiding them through stories and positive communication, and seeking professional help whenever necessary.

Mrs. Shilpi Gupta highlighted the significance of healthy lifestyle habits, open communication, positivity, proper sleep, staying active, and seeking support to maintain good mental health. She emphasized that care and understanding are more effective than punishment or neglect.

The workshop concluded with a vote of thanks by Mrs. Monika Pathak, followed by soothing music by the school choir Waves and the Shanti Path.
