DAV Nandraj Public School, Ranchi solemnly celebrated Kargil Vijay Diwas to honour the courage, determination, and supreme sacrifice of the Indian Armed Forces during the 1999 Kargil War.
This meaningful programme was organized as an initiative of Dainik Jagran under the “Bharat Raksha Parv” campaign, aimed at honouring Indian war heroes and spreading awareness among students about the spirit of patriotism and national pride.
The celebration began with a flag hoisting ceremony at 8:00 a.m., followed by a heartfelt speech by student Parul Priyadarshi, who paid tribute to the martyrs of Kargil.
The event was graced by Colonel Santosh Kumar, Commanding Officer of the 3rd Jharkhand NCC Battalion, Ranchi, as the Chief Guest. In his motivating address, he reflected on the harsh conditions and heroic efforts of Indian soldiers during the Kargil War, and inspired the students with real-life stories of valour and sacrifice.
Mr. Badal Raj, District Education Superintendent (DSE), Ranchi, was the Special Guest for the occasion. He appreciated the efforts of the school and Dainik Jagran in organising such a powerful and educational programme for the students.
To mark the occasion, students of the school presented a vibrant cultural programme, including patriotic dances, instrumental performances, and group songs by the school’s musical team “Waves.” The performances filled the auditorium with patriotic fervour and received appreciation from everyone present.
In his message, Principal Dr. Ravi Prakash Tiwary emphasized the importance of Kargil Vijay Diwas as a symbol of India’s unity and courage. He stated:
“This day reminds us of the sacrifices made for our freedom and security. As students, it is our duty to carry forward the spirit of responsibility, honesty, and discipline. We must strive to become valuable citizens who contribute meaningfully to our nation.”
