Education is a process of flowering of the personality of the individual. It allows scope for manifestation of the full potential of the individual. This, naturally, involves clearance of the mental blocks which enables a person to discover his or her talents under the guidance of Gurus/Acharyas Education in the earlier times was imparted in the Gurukul where the student lived with the teacher away from the parents. The Gurukuls, as we are told, were located outside the towns in the lap of nature where students got the opportunity to develop close communion with nature and also learnt various subjects like mathematics, science, philosophy, arts etc. which equipped them for adult life.
Even during medieval time education was imparted in told and madrasas which differed from modern schools in a big way. The educational scenario today has undergone a sea change with modernization. Nowadays we have an elaborate system of gradation in terms of foundational, preparatory, middle and secondary levels i.e. the 5+3+3+4 system of schooling as per N.E.P. 2020.We also have college education, education at the university, and other centers of higher learning. Education is imparted in a formal set-up and the procedure is quite cumbersome. The old flavour of simplicity and companionship at the Guru’s ashram is largely missing in modern conditions. However, we at D.A.V. Nandraj Public School have striven to connect the students to the ages old customs and traditions of our country through participation in morning Yajnas and through other celebrations held periodically in the school. We firmly believe that adherence to moral values is an inseparable component of education which in turn enables a person to lead a healthy and fulfilling life.
We uphold the three-fold concept of “Sanskar-Shiksha-Swasthya”. 02 Utmost attention is paid to the academic development of the children so that the weak students also get the opportunity to join the mainstream over a couple of years. Extra classes are held in the school for such academically weak students to allow them sufficient scope for improvement. Besides academics, we also ensure that the child participates in various extra-curricular activities including sports, quizzes, speeches, debates, etc. so as to bring about a holistic development in the child. The teachers make efforts to clarify concepts and also try to relate the theoretical concepts to everyday life in order to consolidate the knowledge acquired and also to make it more meaningful. Special attention is taken to ensure that the child behaves in a disciplined manner and remains punctual everyday as we believe that discipline, dedication and belief in one self can help a person to become successful in life.
Stories from Hitopdesha, Panchatantra and other such books are narrated by teachers during the morning assembly to instil a sense of right and wrong among students and also to add a touch of wisdom to their personalities. Camps are also periodically held in the school to acquaint the students with Indian culture and human values. The initiative taken by Late Master Tek Chand Arya, Late Mahatma Narayan Das Grover, Late Dr. Dukhan Ram, Late Shri Madan Gopal Sethi and others to lay the foundation of a school culminated in the development of a full-fledged school up to the senior secondary level. In the current times, we are fortunate enough to pursue our endeavours in the field of education under the guiding light of stalwarts of the Arya Gyan Prachar Samiti namely Smt. Sushila Gupta, Shri Shatrughan Lal Gupta, Shri Prem Prakash Arya, Shri Rajendra Kumar Arya, Shri Ashok Bhatia, Shri Punit Kumar Poddar and other senior members who spare no pains and always extend their undying support to help this institution in reaching greater heights. Being fully committed to the cause of education, we believe in continual growth, positivism and making relentless efforts which will eventually help us in the manifestation of our dreams in this field.
